Course outline

5 modules

  1. Timing and complete-character diagnostic

    PARIS timing, required character set, prosigns, baseline recognition, and accessible audio controls.

  2. Accuracy before speed

    Character families, punctuation, spacing, copy discipline, and targeted error remediation.

  3. Plain-language progression

    Adaptive word, sentence, number, punctuation, and mixed-content drills from 12 to 20 WPM.

  4. Sustained 20 WPM receiving

    Five-minute endurance sets, delayed recovery, fatigue management, and one-minute exact-run analysis.

  5. Optional sending preparation

    Rhythm, spacing, keying ergonomics, recording, and examiner-boundary preparation.

Assessment and completion

Requirements stay explicit.

Assessment plan: Planned five-minute 20 WPM plain-language receiving simulation using letters A–Z, digits 0–9, period, comma, question mark, slash, and AR/BT/SK prosigns. The practice readiness gate requires at least one continuous minute without transcription error; only an authorized examiner may award official credit.

Completion languageEligible learners may receive an IM Academi Telegraphy Element 2 Preparation record. It is not an FCC telegraphy examination pass, PPC, Radiotelegraph Operator License, COLEM/examiner result, or sending/receiving competency sign-off.

Is this an official OSHA or third-party certification?

No. IM Academi will identify the course provider and the exact completion outcome. It will not imply OSHA authorization, regulatory qualification, or another organization's certification unless the applicable authorization has been obtained and documented.

Does my employer still need to provide site-specific training?

Often, yes. Site hazards, procedures, equipment, emergency plans, supervision, and role authorization remain employer responsibilities. This page states course-specific boundaries but cannot replace an employer's hazard assessment.

What happens if a practical component is required?

The knowledge portion and practical evaluation are tracked separately. Final completion depends on the published course rules and a documented evaluation by an approved evaluator.
