    What the course and its limited awareness certificate do—and do not—authorize.

  2. H₂S properties, behavior, and sources

    How H₂S behaves, where it may occur, and which conditions increase risk.

  3. Exposure, health effects, and exposure limits

    Exposure routes, symptoms, odor failure, and the purpose of key limits.

  4. Detection and monitoring awareness

    Monitoring-system categories, alarm meaning, and operational boundaries.

  5. Prevention, controls, PPE, and safe work concepts

    Hierarchy of controls, work planning, permits, and respiratory-program boundaries.

  6. Alarms, evacuation, muster, and rescue limits

    A.L.A.R.M., wind and route awareness, accountability, and no unplanned rescue.

  7. Scenario challenge and final review

    Apply the response model and sign the controlled credential-scope acknowledgement.

Assessment and completion

Requirements stay explicit.

Assessment plan: A protected 35-question final examination with an 80% passing threshold and mandatory critical-response items. Two initial attempts are permitted; an additional attempt requires a controlled reset.

Completion languageEligible learners receive an IM Academi Hydrogen Sulfide (H₂S) Safety Awareness Certificate of Completion. The record documents general awareness only and does not authorize site entry, respirator use, gas-monitor operation, emergency response, rescue, or site-specific work.

Frequently asked

Is this an official OSHA or third-party certification?

No. IM Academi will identify the course provider and the exact completion outcome. It will not imply OSHA authorization, regulatory qualification, or another organization's certification unless the applicable authorization has been obtained and documented.

Does my employer still need to provide site-specific training?

Often, yes. Site hazards, procedures, equipment, emergency plans, supervision, and role authorization remain employer responsibilities. This page states course-specific boundaries but cannot replace an employer's hazard assessment.

What happens if a practical component is required?

The knowledge portion and practical evaluation are tracked separately. Final completion depends on the published course rules and a documented evaluation by an approved evaluator.
